Canon EOS 600D

I see the 600D has been released
This sounds excellent for planetary work

On the movie front the camera retains its predecessor's approach too, offering full HD recording via a dedicated position on the camera's mode dial, with full manual control available for those who want it. There's a new digital zoom function, offering 3 - 10x zoom while maintaining HD output, and the 600D also has sound recording level control built-in, with a stereo sound meter to help jusdge the right setting.
Sounds like a good overall camear with swivel screen and full HD movie shooting

I daresay it wont take Hutech too long to start offering modded ones for DSO imaging

I noticed they'd released that the other day, along with the 1100D, I think it was.

The 5D Mark II was the first camera to feature high definition video.

It's great to see that these excellent features have been handed down to the entry level systems as well.

I can only imagine what the next 5D and 1Ds series have in store for us.

Forum chat suggests that its really just a 550D with an articulated LCD screen. You can get yourself a 550D body (generic) for about $650 on ebay. Is the moveable LCD screen worth the $500 more?

The "movie digital zoom" on the 600D does sound like an interesting upgrade though.
