SBIG fibre dessicant

Is there any local supplier for the SBIG fibre dessicant used with some of the older ccd's ike the ST-8300 etc? Do I need to get it from SBIG?

A quick eBay search turned up no fibre/fiber dessicant that I could find. Lots of silica gel ones, but not sure they would be both small /compact enough or wise next to the chip and electronics like in the ST-8300.

Or can the original dessicant be redried in an oven on slow low heat?

I just changed the dessicant in my ST-8300, and down to the last strip. Hope it lasts the several years as SBIG claims.

Lewis,

Theo at Gama Electronics sells the strips - 20 strips for $25.00. The same ones as were in the Camera. If you run short let me know and I'll put a couple in an envelope for you

cheers
Gary
