White Dots in Images

Hi,

I am a complete noob when it comes to CCD imaging and I have what is probably a really basic question.

Does anyone know what the white dots are in the attached files? They are in different locations in both photos.

The CCD camera is an Atik 16ic. It has a cooling mode but I am not sure how to turn this on as the manual didn't mention it and the image capture software didn't give me the option to turn it on. Not sure if the dots are related to that or not.

These white dots appeared after about 30min of taking 1 sec max exposures of the spectrum of gamma Crucis. I turned the camera off for about 15min and when I resumed imaging the dots were gone.

Thanks for any assistance.

Cheers,
Dan
