Sony cam Redux with the Royce 10 inch

Rather gobsmacked.....This is the first remotely decent image i've got from the new setup, handbuilt Royce 10 inch mirror F4 Newtonian and Sony A7s.

As it was only really a guiding test, I didn't bother with flats (badly needed here!). Didn't have any bias or dark files either, must've deleted the old files for the 'old' Sony A7s camera. Didnt bother checking collimation. Bad focus, could only adjust at first by sight on the tiny sony screen. Working on using the guidecam for focus measurement next.

Why gobsmacked? This is a set of 30 pics of TWO MINUTES each only. I tried 4-5 mins but the suburban skyglow made it pointless. Even with the Astronomik 6nm Ha filter. Looks like AL Sam's work is a keeper!

Oh, this is NGC6357 by the way...

Hmm, any reactions? Should I keep the cam or just move to the asi ? Will be testing that combo soon.

Ok, softish focus yes but plenty of latent detail there. I'm a SONY fan myself. I've used the A77v a few times but the attraction of tethering for the Canons is just too easy. Wish SONY would come to the party.

It's a keeper btw ....
