Rosette beginnings

Bonus night continued last night, setting this going at 1am and not dropping a sub until 5.

This is six months, almost to the day, after getting my first telescope for my 40th. I'm really chuffed with how far I've come, and chuffeder that I started at all.

I've gone and overcooked the processing, as usual, but more data will hopefully help me take my fingers off all the buttons.

17 x 300s on each channel, SHO. I left the green in, dont mind it for now.

Astrobin here https://www.astrobin.com/dl0vui/

I think this is one of only two images that I've been pretty happy with without cropping. Automatic background Extraction in PI is quick and I think tidies things up pretty well.

haha! Thanks Mike. I was lucky enough to get a look at a longer reply, and was glad to read it . I definitely don't have a degree in this stuff, and really appreciate your taking the time to explain it

Most excellent JP. I would love to see the details when Astrobin comes up.

Very very nice JP. This is one of those objects that I think has its merits in both true color and scientific color schemes. Well done 👍

Really nice Rosette
Look likes this hobby is got you well and truly hooked now
Great work !!
Keep it up
PS: You might have to slow down a bit, at 40 you might run out of objects to image
I’m a bit different I started at 60 so I have got time against me but I don’t think about it , just enjoy every night I go out when it’s clear ( big east coast low hitting Vic and NSW now and moving damn slow so no AP for 2 weeks )
Time to do some housekeeping
Cheers
Martin

Thanks a lot, Ryan, Martin and Mike

Martin, I'm banking on slowing down a bit after this first year, collecting half-done images of many things... I 'd really like to choose one or perhaps two things per month to do a really good job of some time. Maybe it'll take a few laps of the sun to settle into that routine, though! Definitely have more to do here when this weather clears, though.
