Carina Nebula

I took my gear away with me over Christmas on the chance that I got some clear skies, and thankfully managed to get two nights of imaging in whilst away Made the car a bit of a squeeze for my wife and son but thankfully they didn't mind! This one uses data captured from the backyard of the holiday house I was staying in, combined with the first data I ever gathered on this target (indeed the first data I ever gathered on any target) back in June 2020.

3 hrs of subs from Dec 2020 using an Optolong L-Extreme and 1.5 hrs of subs from June 2020 using Optolong L-Enhance. ASI533MC, EQ6R and Esprit 80 used for both sets.

The other night I added some data to my Orion image but haven't finished processing that yet.

Cheers. It was stacked in APP and finished in Photoshop (colour, curves, levels, saturation etc)

Great image. Great to get away and the first rate imaging is a big bonus.

Well done !!
I’d like to know roughly where you found some clear nights on holidays , the east coast of NSW has been clouded out for weeks

Thanks. It was north-east Victoria (made it across the border a couple of days ahead of the closure to Sydney residents) - in the week I was away there was four clear nights although I only imaged for two of those four.
