Now that I've stopped dribbling and drooling...

Enjoy.

It's good to see the sensor surface is still not too big so you wouldn't need a very wide corrected imaging circle to be able to use one of these.

Fantastic resolution, but I'm not too sure about its application for DSO astro work.

With such small pixels (well depth) I can see that the pixels hit with light will fill and overflow very quickly making long exposure photography limited in length.
Very hard to use anti-blooming on pixels so small.

Thoughts?

This is just the APS-H sensor. If you extrapolate the specification, the full frame sensor would be 160 megapixels.

Impressive technology, but wouldn't this just be massive oversampling for astro-work? Even for terrestrial photography, can you "really" see an improvement beyond 20megapixels??

The pixels are 2.2 um. With a proper 3m FL the image scale is 0.15 arc/secs, youd be hard pressed to tell the diff compared to a 16800 16meg (9um) chip, which is much bigger and 0.62 arc/secs.
