30th Nov. Solar

Took the opportunity of clearing skies and milder temperatures to point the scopes at Sol again.

Nice one, Jeff. I just took a peek myself. Couldn't find my camera so will tell my kids that these are my photos (with your permission of course)

Interesting images Jeff. Details in AR 2786 seem to be changing each day.

Pleased to see the prom shot....everybody concentrating on the great spots overlooks the exciting proms.

Wow Jeff you sure have some detail in those White Light images! That is also a nice prom image. So much change since I last looked. A great addition to the library of this event!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, I may not get around to commenting on everyone else's images but I do enjoy looking at what you've captured. Not every one has clear skies or benign conditions at the same time so with quite a few of us taking an interest in solar activity, there is always someone pointing a scope in the right direction and sharing what is captured.

Ken, I always check around the limb in case there is something interesting, usually after checking Gong as well.

As PeterM mentioned and linked to, there was an "M" Class flare earlier today, just over the limb. So something very active is about to rotate into view in a day or two.

If anyone reads this , it would be worth having a look at the western limb tomorrow morning. The latest SOHO images show another spot coming into view with associated proms. Looks to be a decent size too.
