What is the meaning behind your avatar?

If you use an avatar, why is it a representation of you?

Come on, please explain.

I don't use an avatar, I personally like to see who I'm actually chatting to or who owns the post I'm reading.

Some members use a brand name of a product as a representation of themselves.

Others use a symbol of their main hobby or interest as a representation.

And others use a picture of someone else maybe well known, to represent them.

But some avatars are very esoteric

Cheers
Richard

Want everyone to see how mean and nasty I am. So there.

Edit: As per Suzy's request, my user name is a combination. Bloodhound was my CB-Radio callsign back in the late 80's and then when I got my first computer I was 31.

It's our Astro club.
A form of blatant advertising

I notice that some avatars are too hard to make out what they are.

Bart is my name and Bartman is my nickname. Hence Bart Simpson. I quite like that pic of Bart - its a pic of the cover from Nirvana's Nevermind album- (oh and I like the Simpsons too! )

I've been wanting to do a thread like this for ages and now you've beat me to it Richard.
My thread was going to ask about usernames, some really interesting and strange usernames here- like renormalised for instance.. why do you call yourself that Carl.. why.. why .
If you don't mind Richard, I think it would be fabulous if people can explain their usernames also
I can't wait to find out, should be an interesting thread.

My avatar and username are a bit obvious.

There's no real reason behind mine, I just found it one day while surfing around the net.

It still gives me a laugh when I look at it and I hope it does for everyone else.

There's also a picture of me on the profile page if you want to see my mug. Most say the cat is better looking.

My new one is a rendition of the Lorenz Attractor .. a phase space diagram applicable to a chaotic system (like the weather). The trace which draws this pattern, never crosses any of the previous paths already drawn … in spite of the drawing complexity .. amazing stuff!

The "Initially Sensitive" title is one of the key hallmarks of such a system and if the initial conditions change, chaotic behaviour results.

Am I, and all life-forms, the result of chaotic processes ?

Cheers

Here's a link as it ha a large filesize:http://www.kustard.org/images/wallpa..._wallpaper.png
