Hartman mask and focus on Sun or Moon

I'm throwing this out there for those wiser than I. I am making a solar filter for my 9.25 Celestron and it occurred to me that due to the small diameter required to get clear aperture (approx 60 - 70 mm), I could easily put in another hole and create a Hartman mask. Would a large object like the Sun be easily focused by this method?

Cheers
Tony
