Mike, the D7000 is a really nice camera. It seems to be Nikon's flagship mid-market camera ATM, and packed with features. My son bought one recently and I had a decent look over it during Easter. The commonly used functions are readily accessible and not buried in menus. Continuous shooting is a dream. I don't know how it fares for sensor noise, but there's one way to find out. I agree with the earlier comments about the lenses.
