Planetary video capture software EOS 550D toMac

I'm getting a bit frustrated here...im trying to find a way to capture live view video from mod EOS 550D to Macbook. Ive found EosMovieRecorder which has been recommended...but there is no install program to run..no .dmg file etc. apparently it can zoom to 1:1 capture and all that....but how to get it to run??
Any Mac users out there able to calm me down a bit...or make other suggestions on how to go about this?

I've searched the forum with no result so apologies if i have missed something obvious. Most seem to be PC users with BackyardEOS etc.

Have you tried Canon's EOS Utility? Just a suggestion, I don't know if it supports the crop video mode

Quicktime (builtin software of MacOS) allows capturing (part of) the screen of a running app.

So set EOS Utility to Livevuew and capture the liveview window.
