Denkmeier binos

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has a pair of Denks, either the older model or the new Binotrons. I'm considering purchasing the latter but firstly would be interested to chat to someone who has actually used them and secondly, once I have worked out if I will physically be able to use them in the observatory as I don't have a lot of room to play with at the eyepiece end. I have a 152mm refractor in the Sirius 2.3m dome and, as it slews through some parts of the sky there isn't a great deal of clearance with cameras etc on the back.

If you have some and, particularly if you in Brisbane I'd be really keen on testing them out on my 'scope for clearance testing. Please PM me.
Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris. I have the Denk Binotron. I live in Newcastle though, so you're not going to be able to take them for a spin. But I can try and answer any questions.

I have the new Binotrons. Superb. Wish I'd bought them sooner. But they are big. If you have a refractor, won't you have them on a diagonal - which is at right angles to the length of the tube and so less of a problem.

I'm a bit far from Brisbane, though. Sorry.

- Steve
