Here is the result of my first data collection on the Tarantula Nebula for the season. The plan was to get a couple of nights in this week on it and get around 10hrs but the second night the seeing was pretty average and the temp was pretty warm so I decided that I’d get very little value from it. Instead I processed the firsts nights worth of data on its own and I’ll collect the rest later in the month. So here it is:
80 x 180sec @ ISO 400
Canon 350d astromodified w/ STC Duo Filter
BT200 f/4 Newtonian
HEQ5 Pro guided by Nexguide SAG
Thank you Chris. I feel like it came out pretty nice though I do plan to add more data to it in the next moon cycle.
As far as the guider goes, I like it. I’m not going to even start pretending it has accuracy in the realms of a guider hooked up to a laptop but it doesn’t do a bad job. It’s completely standalone so it suits my DSLR setup which is why I like it.
