Orion Starshoot II (cooled)

Hi All,

I like the idea of 1 shot colour ccd cameras and just found this, orion starshoot II, USD 590 new. This camera has the same chip size as a meade DSI II but is cooled with a TEC. http://www.telescope.com/control/pro...oduct_id=52080. The link has some example 10 minute dark frames. Also it comes with maxim dl essentials and also shoots in raw.

it is no SBIG st 4000 cxm, but, what do you guys think ?

Have a look through the yahoo group - lots of images in there..... I think the StarShoot gives similar images to the colour DSI....

Thanks Lee,

this site appears to give info about the starshoot I, not II. Even though the resolution appears correct the release date is 2005 and i think this camera has just been released?

The stated resolution puts it in the DSI II league not the DSI?

Paul
