QE falloff with 1600 in IR and UV?

I'm toying with the idea of playing with some of these filters for planetary work, but I wonder if the QE falloff in those regions might make it a pointless task?

Has anyone played with a 1600 and UV or IR pass filters with good results? I'm particularly interested in Venus, Mars & Jupiter.

I will be using my RC10, but will have to use a TV Powermate to get the correct image scale so there will be lenses in the way too which I understand can impede transmission at those wavelengths.

Shouldn't be a problem.
I use the ASI 174mm and the ASI 1600mm for solar imaging and can easily image down in the UV (CaK line).

What is your imaging train like? Do you lose much transmission to glass absorbtion?

Am I right in thinking its quite possible that you could end up with only about 80% photon loss due to QE and glass absorbtion?

I’ve used a Genesis 100/500 to get down to 3700A....
The UV (and IR) absorption >3600A and <11000A for Standard lenses isn’t that bad....
My current spectroscopy with C11 gets good results across the whole spectrum.
