16" finally finished

My third attempt at posting some photos of my finished 16" truss dobsonian. The design is a variation (very small) of the classic Obsession. For various reasons (long story) it has taken just about two years to finish. I've been able to use it only three times, yes you guessed: bad weather! I haven't used the Argo Navis yet for the same reason. Enjoy.

Cheers,
John

Congratulations John, it is a great feeling when a scope is finished and ready for the night sky. Looks very solidly built.

It may have taken longer than expected but it had turned out to being a beautiful instrument!

16" Dob really finished

A big thank you to all of you for your kind words. Yes it was worth it at the end. I have to thank, again, all of you, on this forum and around the web, for publishing ideas, tips and especially photos of what you have achieved. It has been a great help. And the French guy, whom I forget the name who gave me permission to use his drawings and gave me advice on aspects of the design. Big

Cheers,
John
