M42 from Snake Valley

Just a quick edit from Saturday night.
Forgot to add flats and because I was too tired from having a great time at S.V. I didn't start DSS from scratch again.
Just stacked, stretched and cropped.
Will put details up when I get home from work and add flats and reprocess.
Thanks to all at Snake Valley and especially Malcolm for being the perfect host and making me feel welcome.
Cheers
Andy

Thanks Steve,
Good to meet you too and thanks for sharing some viewing with your gear.
Great place at SV and really good and helpful people as well.
Also thanks for steering me in the right direction to work out my mount.
Cheers
Andy

Still playing around with data from Saturday night.
I did some 15 sec subs but must have turned the camera around so my flats i took in the morning will only work on the 15 sec subs.
I've had to rotate the whole image to get everything to match up.
I've stretched this one a fair bit an got some noise but i just wanted to see more dust.
I'm still trying to get lots of dust with enough darkness and full colour.
I'll try for 2 minute subs next time and maybe that might work.
Cheers

Probably pushed a tad past it's best but it's pleasing to look at. A couple of pesky satellites as well. Anytime you get some data is a good time. Sounds like snake valley was good

Thanks David,
I know what you mean by pushing it.
Its a real tradeoff. The more I stretched, the more fine detail of clouds appeared but so did the noise and overall washed out look.
I'll keep getting more data and playing with it.on the weekend.
I think if i can use longer subs then i shouldn't have stretch it as much??? maybe?

Cheers
Andy.
