Back at it again

Feels like AGES since I got the telescope out. Over three months. Glad to see it all still works; didn't even collimate, yet it seems fairly sharp.

Single exposure, 20 seconds at ISO 1600 through an 8" F/5 Newt. I'm currently stacking 3 x 30 images (taken at ISO 400, 800 and 1600), the resulting TIFs which I will then try to stack together, in the hope I can get a nice wide dynamic range. It'll take a while. I wanted ISO 3200 too, but the damn thing went behind a tree... might try again tomorrow night if I get the chance.

Just thought this was pretty friggin' good for a single snap by an entry-level DSLR. Will post the final, multi-stacked result when it's done. Never tried anything like that before so will be a learning curve...
