H Alpha or Full Spectrum Mod?

I'm close to ordering a mod but which is best?

If I get a Full Spectrum mod will my IDAS P2 and D2 filters be fine for astro shots?

Would the H Alpha be better for wide field shots with lenses?

TIA

Hi Tony,

I got a full spectrum modd on my sony A7s, and i use a IDAS HEUIB-ll filter, it is awesome, lets in the Ha bandwidth, has great colour balance, for night shots and day shots.

Thanks Josh. Do you do any photography in other bandwidths (eg. IR).

Tony,
I went for the FULL full spectrum mod - both filters removed in the Canon 1000D.
I needed a Clear clip in filter to focus standard lenses.
The benefit for me was to allow spectroscopy across the whole visible spectrum, not just the improvement to the Ha region.
If you're doing normal AP a FULL spectrum mod is unnecessary.
The remaining front anti alias/ dust shake filter cuts off above 700nm.

Thanks Ken, I've emailed Camera Clinic in Melbourne to ask what filter options they have.

I looked into Life Pixel but their shipping fees are too high - $150 just to send the camera back.

Hi Tony.
No I do not, but that was the idea back when I got it modified.

Regards
Joshua
