DSO's with a DMK

Hi all,

Anyone using or any thoughts on using a DMK41 mono on DSO's, the scope would be a 8" f4. Can the supplied capture software be setup similar to Nebulosity/IP and capture in FIT'S? I,ve checked out thier site but cannot seem to find this info. Any help would be great.

Peter

I've played with using my DBK31 (color) for deep sky shots... did a few subs of M20, and a few of M8 through my 8" F/6, The field of view was pretty narrow, but it can be done.

Theres a great thread on the forums all about this.. I'll find it and post a link..

I used the standard software to capture the images.

They actually came out pretty good considering.. There are some people taking amazing photos with the DMK's + color filters..

Ok... firstly Here is the forum thread covering how to do it, and there are a few sample images in there too...

Here - you will find some absolutely amazing images captured with a DMK camera...

Good luck with it..

I've used my DMK21 for DSO imaging. The results were quite impressive for the relatively short expsoures I used.

I'm not sure how sensitive the DMK41 is compared to the DMK21 but looking at the images Alberto Mayer have taken you shouldn't have any problems with the DMK41.

Thanks guys I will follow them up. It was just a thought as against the qhy2 pro which is another $1000 dollars dearer which has cooling but the same ccd chip. My initial thoughts were to stick some cold fingers on and see what happens.

Hello to all...
i'm been far for some months always trying something new even in the Lunar field.
The Imaging Source Blog didn't publish my latest DSO effort yet.
Recently I wanted to try NGG 6960 and NGG 6992 from my town terrace.
Honestly i was almost hopeless because those nebulas are really hard but the results made me really happy!
In guess that NGC6992 is my personal best DSO until now.

Yesterday I gave a quick welcome to M42 for the year 2008.
I'd like to buy even a DBK31 in order to record the Chroma channels even using the 2x2 or 4x4 binning because i learnt that the chroma channel can be even very very at lower resolution.
I posted the images there (fully captioned):

I really like this camera (bought for moon and planets)
