Oh.... I just see that someone's posted about this in general chat.
Shouldn't that moved here?
I can't seem to delete this thread, I know at one time many moons ago we were able to.

It's fine to have both threads Suzy. I posted in general chat as I though more people would see it before the show.

Ohhhh, seems this isn't reportable then - have the terms changed- I don't recall the reasons being so specific in the past?.

Well I guess if I keep talking to myself on here it may eventually end up being spam . I feel lonely .

Tonights programme comes at an interesting time actually because look
what I read this morning (I've since posted it on our fb page if anyone wants to comment / share out from there.)

The photo in the article was snapped only last Thursday .

“Ice is melting in unprecedented ways as summer approaches in the Arctic. In recent days, observations have revealed a record-challenging melt event over the Greenland ice sheet, while the extent of ice over the Arctic Ocean has never been this low in mid-June during the age of weather satellites. Greenland saw temperatures soar up to 40 degrees above normal Wednesday, while open water exists in places north of Alaska where it seldom, if ever, has in recent times.
It’s “another series of extreme events consistent with the long-term trend of a warming, changing Arctic,” said Zachary Labe, a climate researcher at the University of California at Irvine.”

And while we're at it, how about we re-live this famous Q&A 2016 segment where an exasperated Brian Cox ended up throwing his climate change graphs at Malcolm Roberts . (8 mins).

In David Attenborough's latest series I noticed he wasn't pulling any punches regarding changes around the planet - walruses falling down cliffs to their death was particularly confronting.

Malcom Roberts would be my poster child for 'people I'd like to send to Mars'.

Or Venus, then he can learn all about runaway climate change and talk as much as he likes.

As soon as they announced the line up of guests for tonights program at the end of last weeks I immediately thought to myself that this will be an interesting show. No Malcom Roberts or Alan Jones, thankfully just intelligent discussion, come on 9:30pm. Probably coincide with the only patch of clear sky for the night.

We still need to get intelligence questions! A few cranks could derail the discussion by forcing the panel to defend the abc's of science. Still, I'm more interested in this episode than any I can remember.

Thanks Suzy. It was a great episode of Q&A, which I have to admit I rarely watch when politicians and other self-promoters are on the panel.

Hi there Alan & Glen,

Wow such a great watch. My brain is still whizzing around.
You guys probably know how much I love Brian (pls Brian let me re-style your hair ), but I was a bit disappointed with his deflections to a couple of questions towards the end. It didn't come across as the Brian I know . In particular the bit about letting alien civilisations know where we are. Twice, Tony had to ask him to answer his thoughts. My thoughts have always been with Stephen Hawking even before I knew his thoughts. I don't feel we should broadcast with a map where we are, and annoys me that people of planet Earth don't have a say . I don't doubt that other civilisations could exist somewhere out there. Just stay in your corner. I know as humans our trait is to explore and I respect that. But draw a line. That's just my view, we all have different views .

They were fantastic questions, and I'm really glad the subject of micro plastics came up because since I saw an ABC article on it last week, it's scared the heck out of me. It gave us a lot to think about didn't it.

Also, mentioned was the sustainable population number of humans on the planet.. compared to what the trends are.. but the remark was somehow lost.
