Are most (everyone) visiting this site from Australia ? Reason I noticed, I was interested in some of the 'For Sale" items. They seem to be all originating from Aus. folks.

Thomas,
As the largest and most popular forum in Australia, I think it's only natural that the majority of members are Australian based.

Definitely although you'd be hard pressed for anyone but the most daring to ship expensive items overseas.

Thomas small items like eyepieces are fine to ship. If the item fits with the Aust Post dimensions they’re pretty reasonable too.

But when it comes to something the size of an OTA it requires a courier door to door and that’s where it can be expensive, but again that is relative to the value of the item.

International shipping is similar but highly variable by country of origin. Small thing from the US are easy but forget anything larger than say 3kg or bigger than a toaster - the costs become horrific. On the other hand, ex Germany, my current scope shipped in a 3 nested boxes, almost the size of a coffin - for $600, gross weight 24kg (scope is 14kg).
