Takahashi TOA-130 - Price Reduction, Shipping Included

I purchased this telescope second hand, assuming my name would never come up for an AP-130... I don't need two 130mm telescopes.

Focal Length 1000mm
F7.7

This telescope was originally fitted with the 2.7 inch focuser. After I purchased it, I managed to find a second hand 67 flattener, which prompted an upgrade to the larger Feather-Touch focuser. (I have not experienced the same issues as Andy with his focuser - see collimation results from CCD inspector and image of NGC5139 taken tonight, albeit with a smaller sensor than Andy uses)

The extender can be fitted behind the flattener - frames the moon nicely in a full frame DSLR.

There are a few minor cosmetic marks on the tube, but the optics are clean.

Current advertised new prices from Claude,
TOA-130 (4 inch focuser) $11614
67 Flattener $1399
Finder Scope $395
1.6x Extender $539
CA35 Adapter (for extender) $130
Tube Holder $450
Total $14527

I'm asking $AUD9000, including shipping within Australia. I will be advertising this on Astromart, hence the American coin in the pics for sizing of cosmetic marks. I have the original Tak boxes for shipping.

And another shot of the lens, because I've discovered it's really hard to photograph a lens...

I'd just like to say that at any other time I'd jump at this offer...what a great piece of gear. Unfortunately the wife won't let me right now due to many other costs in our lives right now. What a pity! If you're still selling it some time in the not to distant future I'd love to grab it. Frankly I'm surprised someone hasn't already nabbed it already. Just wondering, what's the cool down time on the 130? I've heard the 150 is quite slow, so much that many people consider it more of a visual instrument. I'm guessing the 130 doesn't have the same problem?

Thanks for the comments,

Would be much easier to deliver it to you in Clifton ;-) I was out at Leyburn on the weekend.

As for cool down, it’s a big scope, but I haven’t had major issues. Setup before dusk, and by the time I’ve sorted out the electronics and waited for astronomical twilight, it’s good to go.

I’ve had a few nibbles, but if it doesn’t sell in the interim, I’d be happy to deliver it to you when the boss gives you the nod.

DT
