Reprocessed a Carina Nebula image I captured in late May
I used a 2 x Powermate with my Canon 600D in the 8” f5 newt which effectively gave me an 8” f10 at 2000mm focal length
Just over 2 hours of data captured under a near full moon
Re Processed in Startools V1.5 Linear data set
Binned image to 50%
AutoDev
Cropped edges
Wipe, bumped up dark anomalies to 8
AutoDev re stretch again, bumped up shadow linearity
Deconvolution with mask 2.4 pixels
Sharpen 100%
HDR Optimise soft
Life 2 x gamma 15%
Colour Artistic aware, used a star mask and invert
Final Noise reduction 5.0 pixels
*** Had to reduce file size to upload so lost some fine detail
Thanks one and all for your kind comments
These persistent east coast lows wrapping around the SE of the continent are forcing a lot of us indoors for the past month or so
However the rain is most welcome
Maybe some more reprocessing ahead ?
Wow, that's expertly processed. Personally I would have wound the colour saturation up a bit, but that's probably just my preference. Outstanding image!
Thanks All
Appreciate your comments
I’m going to experiment further with using a 2 x Powermate with my 8”f5 newt on the brighter objects. The subs on this image were 4 minute at ISO800 and I did perform a maximum stretch ( AutoDev) in Startools, so in hind sight I could have push up the ISO to 1600 to give me more flexibility in processing
Thanks again
Looks amazing Martin! I agree with Kevin the hotter stars might need a little boost in saturation but I'm being being very very picky on a subjective matter. It's a fantastic image. Well done again!
