Thanks to everyone else who has responded. Will have the sheets and info organised shortly (I say that every camp I know!)
If anyone has any ideas for a presentation, let me know!

I plan to be there. It will be my first time and I am looking forward to it. The ferry is booked from Tassie.
I am also planning to attend the VicSouth Star Party at Nhill the weekend before. Excellent timing to make the ferry trip worthwhile.

Yes, look forward to seeing you there. I attended the SPSP earlier this month. Does that mean I am not a newbie anymore?

I can't make Nhill this year due to a clash with something else, so looking very likely for SVAC.

Hoping to be able to make this one Malcolm. Is my Credit still good ?

Looking forward to some clear skies as Jen's new Maxi Observatory has stuffed the Swan Hill night skies for the next 10 years I reckon.

Hi Rex

I think that you've understated the case there - I reckon she's cruelled it for the whole state and then some! What a mighty edifice it's going to be when completed!

As a total beginner, is there a calendar for this type of event.

Its certainly something i'd be interested in, but think i should get a handle on the basics 1st.

Oh and a telescope might help.

Welcome to the forum Drew

You don't need a telescope to go, there will be a number of scopes set up that you will be able to look through. As a beginner, going to an astro camp like SVAC and talking with the folk there will help get you started on your own astro journey - and shorten the time needed 'to get a handle on the basics' as you put it.

For the cost of the weekend it is a really cheap investment in your own personal development as an amateur astronomer.

Drew
Let me backup Pauls comment, camps are one of the best ways to learn about what scope options are out there or to use your gear better. I haven't looked back once I started joining in

Hope you are able to come along!!

Hi all
Just a quick note to let you all know I will be doing the booking forms and info sheets shortly. Unfortunately my father passed away a couple of weeks ago so only just starting to feel in the mood to think about astronomy!!

Cheers

Malcolm

Don't listen to them Drew, it's a trap 😜😜 the first time I turned up there I turned up with one blankly 😱 no cameras, laptops or anything but a teeny tiny scope that I didn't even know how to use.
Now I have about five scopes with lots of bits n pieces and I'm now building an observatory to put it all in hahahaha 😈😈
Don't say I didn't warn ya lmfao 🤣 I just love noobies 👍👍
Welcome Drew it's an awesome camp and the guys are always willing to help 😈🤗😜👍⭐️⭐️

Now, now Jen - calm yourself.

Because of that monster of an observatory you're building our skies are going to be clagged up for the rest of the year!
