NEW 92 mm f/6.65 Stowaway

In case someone missed the latest news: http://www.astro-physics.com/product...665/92f665.htm

The optimization was chosen for the polychromatic Strehl ratio to be above 90% for the entire visual spectrum with a peak value of 99.8% at the visual peak. The result is unprecedented color correction. Visually the scope shows sharp contrasty images without color fringing with well corrected high power oculars.

Fixed the link - thank you Lewis.

I would really love one too, but already have a very nice 105mm refractor, and home budget is a bit tight at the moment, so will have to pass.

Hopefully someone in Oz will manage to get one

Don’t have a clue...as it is still to be determined. But it’s an AP. Like all their other instruments it will be sublime.

Given that FSQ85 costs about US$3500 and CFF 92mm about US$3000 (not including taxes and shipment), I feel that the new gem from AP will cost around AU$6500 landed.

I am considering "re-acquiring" my AP Star 12ED and cutting down.

I know where it is, I know the gate combo, and I have bolt cutters and a battery powered grinder. Matt, watch my back!

I ordered one as well.

As Peter said, its an AP scope and it will be sublime. Exactly.

I kind of miss my TEC110 F6. That was a nice scope. It really only needed a better focuser, the optics were great.

Greg.
