FS 106N owners -extender question

my FS 106 came with the extender which increases focal length and reduces the fov. This doesn't matter to me that much as I have on it currently a APS sensor so 44mm image circle would be fine.
My question- it seems to be a lens unit with 2 other removable? extension tubes on the back, do I use both of these or are they for adjusting focus position?

Use whatever gets you to focus.

I had a special adapter made up by PreciseParts that allows the Extender-Q 1.6x to thread directly on to my STL-11000M. I didn't know of any other way of being able to image with it.

As far as I can see you can use either one or both, the impact being on the amount it extends. Trial and error with an eyepiece will help but definitely worth a look. Impressive viewing, moon and planets.

You can use the standard t-mount if you are connecting to a DSLR.
