Greg.
I ordered the CFW3-US-L at the same time with 2" LRGB filters.

Zwo version

I received an email back from ZWO saying the 2600 mono would ship at the end of Feb.

Guys, I'm very interested in either the QHY or the ZWO version of this mono camera. Can I get away with the 36mm unmounted filters? Diagonal is about 28mm so that technically should give me about 4mm each side.

I asked the same question when I ordered the 268M.
2" is preferable as you will not have any vignetting.
36mm are do-able but there is a chance of vigneting.
That's what they told me.

You should be able to use 36mm, but it depends on your setup. Fast scopes might be an issue, but from what I've read, it's not going be a major problem overall.

It will go on a WO FLT132 at the native focal length of F7 and the camera will be close to the filters. I will give it a go I reckon and if I need to upgrade the filters I can do so at a later stage. Thanks.

The next question would be, do I need the Pro version or the Photo version?
It seems there are some technical differences between them although the Photo version seems adequate for amatures not doing research.

The unmounted filters sit on a 2mm (approx) shelf so your filter window is reduced to 32mm.
So you will get some corner vignetting, not enough to worry about though (depending on the focal length). A good set of flats will fix it. Plus we usually crop some of image anyway to eliminate stacking artefacts along the edges cased by dithering.
