If I bin my RGB do I ...

Hi guys

If I bin my RGB subs do need a whole lot of binned darks and bias frames. I'm assuming at this point that I need a new set of binned flats as pixinsight will not calibrate using my master unbinned flats.

Thanks

I think you will need to make new 2x2 darks. But, I think you will get away with just reducing the file size of your 1x1 master RGB flats to 2x2 pixel dimension. I've done that with flats and couldn't tell any difference. YMMV.

Yes, and flats.

Also on-chip binning will have a different result to software binning. I don't know many that use software binning these days as there is no gain in sensitivity compared on on-chip binning.

You can take short cuts, but really, taking calibration frames isn't hard work.
