Tarantula Nebula

This was my initial target on Thursday night and again SPG framing and mosaic wizard did all the work. Seeing was really good on the night, and getting polar aligned was quick as always with Sharpcap. I was trying a new set up to see how well my guiding would be with my Newt, I'm fairly particular to my alignment with SCP and had my guiding total at 0.22 arc sec which i was pretty happy about. Using the fast scope I also used the CLS filter and I am contemplating trying it out with shorter subs and boosting the count up as well ( it'll be interesting to see the temp of the sensor by changing the length ). But first getting the spacing right with the coma corrector, I had quite severe comas in the corners.

50 x 180 subs
Darks
Flats
Bias and dark flats

Canon 700D modded
8 inch f/4 Newt
SGP
PHD@ multi star
Cartes Du Ciel

Thanks for looking

Great image but make sure you don't clip the blacks so much, there is a lot more nebulosity than what you can see in this image.

Nice one Karl. Maybe a bit more colour, but that's personal preference from someone who is not into minimalism

Thanks Nik and Chris.
I'll keep that in mind for next time Nik. I didn't want to go too wild on the saturation, I was tempted.
