Pictures of Vega

Hello everyone, greetings from Italy.
I registered to this forum because I have a very particular question to ask you experts of the sky.
I'm not an amateur astronomer although I love the science. My question might be weird for you guys but please bear with me.
I lost today my beloved pet, a cat named Vega. All my pets have constellation or star names due to my love for astronomy and cosmology. I would like to know if any of you have a recent picture of the star Vega since the lyre constellation isn't visible in my hemisphere. I would love to attach it to the urn that contains my baby's ashes. I will pay for the picture if you guys need it.

Hi Guido, welcome, and sorry to hear about your cat. I might suggest you also repost in one of the astrophotography forums, as the imagers amongst us may be able to help your specific request.

Hi Guido. Sorry to hear about your mousehound, it is always difficult to lose a loved pet.
As for Vega, you are incorrect. At your latitude, I would be surprised if it ever set. In fact from the lower parts of the Southern Hemisphere, Lyre and Vega are not visible.

Sorry about your cat.

Vega definitely is visible in your hemisphere. The star is located deep in the northern sky. From the southern hemisphere is only visible very low in the northern sky. However it should be almost overhead from your home in Vicenza. In Vicenza tonight, it will be 9 degrees southwest of the zenith (overhead point) at 21:00 local Vincenza time. See attached chart.

Your English is a lot better than my Italian! Sorry to hear about your cat: it is always hard when pets die.

- Vega is the brightest star in the image
Vega (and Lyra) will pass almost directly overhead from your Latitude this evening, in fact if you look directly overhead about an hour after sunset, Vega is the bright star almost exactly above you. Very appropriate for you at the moment!

You guys have been absolutely awesome.
My wife and I thank all of you for the kind words and the help.
We did see Vega that night also thanks to Joe Cali directions.
We are not religious but it was comforting to identify our beloved Vega with the bright light of this beautiful celestial object.
