I was at Byron Bay over the weekend and yesterday was sitting next to someone who matches your IIS profile picture. I almost said "Hey, are you Alex?" If your Corona Australis picture is recent and from Sydney then I guess it wasn't you in Byron Bay. I probably saved myself a small amount of embarrassment.
Thanks Kevin.
It was not me I have not been to Byron Bay for at least 8 years.
I have only met three iceinspace members...interestingly the first meeting came from someone asking me if it was me ...from here...the fact that I had my eq6 set up in a computer shop probably helped.
Hope you enjoyed Byron.
Alex
Thank you gentlemen.
I did this one last night trying to do better and gather data...and thats another story my formate never varies but well the other night I went small and I sweare since then ...as I said another story.
Went thru a few to get forty four minutes...I am now trying to move towards quality rather than quantity...with this 30 second system I thinkk you could build a bank of high quality frames for a stack...I swear I notice noice for the first time..anyways I have been up late for a few nights processing all day and really sould go outside someplace.
I mostly put these other shots up to compare ..some shots look real different to what I send...or what I thought I sent..they turn red for a start.

Hey Alex, you're getting some real good details in your shots lately but something's off with the color. I had a look at the JPG file and even when you balance the histogram the colors are still off. I see you use DSS. By any chance are you using the right debayering pattern prior to registering and stacking? What's your camera bayer matrix? RGGB?
Hi Marc thanks for trying to help me.
I have not debayered anything.
In truth I did not know about its importance.
Reading up on it now but it is still a bit of a mystery.

I don't know if DSS does it automatically but the first step is to debayer prior to registering or even rotating any sub or you'll lose all the color. Try it on a single sub first.
I used to only stack Jpgs but then went to raw.
I think you have worked out my colour issue (apart from the colour blindness)
Thanks Marc I will work upon this aspect when I get some free time.
Alex
Well I have not got far with how to debayer so I have to add that to my what to figure out list.
I expect this may be news for other beginners so I think I will open a thread.
