This is the first decent picture of the International space station I've been able to get
Taken with a Olympus OMD Em10 and a Skywatcher ED80 , hand tracking burst mode
Thanks guys
Luka settings were iso 200 , 1/160sec the scope is f7 but with the OMD Em10 it's 1200mm and the digital 2x teleconvertor 2400mm so I'm not sure what the f value is
I used Jupiter as a starting point , getting the moon's in focus and seeing the band's in the camera , I thought I must be close
1/250s with a f2.8 lens I used to shoot ISS hand held. burst mode or continuous high speed try to plan the shot if you can. Find out where its best magnitude will be so you dont waste time shooting while it brightens, or just as it goes into shadow. if you can focus well quickly focus while its dim and rising, or I would try using the moon if its visible, or planet or even plane. all depends on the night. but fast shutter speed and steady pan should get you a bunch of sharp shots to choose from to lighten, forget perfect exposure in camera.
Thanks Colin , Marc and Brian
Sil thanks for the tips , I didn't know what settings to use so I guessed my Jupiter settings might be close , I'll bump up the iso and speed next time
