The wait begins...

First truly spectacular night in Canberra since getting the TSA-102 and the SXP mount a week ago. Never believed in the New Equipment Myth, but I guess a new scope and new mount, plus other guys south of here buying new equipment angered Eris (the Goddess of Strife and Discord).

All outside cooling down, but the peeks through the scope (with a Parks 25mm "Masuyama") even whilst cooling have been pinpoint. And Jupiter, settling into the boil, has been pretty darned nice too, with banding plainly visible even in the 25mm (33x).

Waiting another 30 mins, then firing up the Starbook and Skysafari...

Now got all week to figure out my guiding arrangement.

May I recommend a little zwo for a guide camera and a small 50 mm finder guide scope...mine works. Those little zwo cameras are excellent.

Nah Alex, I mean how I am going to mount it. I use my Lodestar with a conveted Takahashi 7x50 finder (has helical focuser). I usually mount it axially on the top of the tube, but considering going offset this time.
