Global Meteor Network... anybody?

Recently a friend from another forum pointed my attention to this project..
https://globalmeteornetwork.org/

Do we have anybody working with them here in Oz?
Have a look at this youtube link..
https://youtu.be/xGu05T8nViM

I think this will be my next project... DIY of course.

EDIT: a friend pointed me to this link:
http://fireballsinthesky.com.au/
I think I will try to contact them... they were very helpful to European branch of GMN.

Gidday Bojan

If you have kept your last smart phone with a reasonable camera that has ISO exposure manual settings exposed...then you could try this.

Interesting...

BTW, I found this. Maybe it can be used for GMN?

Sounds like a good project . Great images and very interesting view of the meteors. . Have not finished the last project . I suppose I could use the zwo guide camera with its all sky lens in a glass dome. Come to think of it , I have a glass dome. Perhaps just a cable running in to a laptop would work just as well as the Pi.

Similar ideas here...

I contacted GMN, and lap running Linux (and their software) is definitely a possibility... I have one old Dell D610 doing nothing for years so I just have to try with bootable USB stick...

But, observatory in Mt Pleasant is a priority now...
And fixing 3D printer.. and fixing coffee machine.. and many other things....

So many projects, I know . The observatory is definitely a priority. I need to build a new house to put mine on.

That project sounds like a good one if , like me , you have a little roof space just outside a window with a good view of the Eastern sky and zenith as attached. Maybe a good use for a compustick or one of my many old laptops.

Well, camera and wide lens arrived today (Alibaba).
Now I have to start playing with LINUX and GMN software...

The plan is to place my station on my friend's farm in Daylesford...

And it would be fantastic if someone could install another one in Snake Valley (Ken?).. then we would have 80km distance, more than enough to collect some serious data on meter orbits etc.
