Astronomik Clip Filter

Hi
Could I have some comments regarding using an Astronomik light pollution clip filter for Canon EOS cameras? Is there a problem in lining up the parallel sides with the long sides of the image chip?
Cheers Peter

The filter has notches on it that match up with the insides of the camera. It can only go in one way and it's pretty self-explanatory. No trouble at all lining it up.

To be honest, I haven't used the light pollution filter. It came with the modded 40D I bought used. I have used the clip in Ha filter which is identical mount. Performs as I'd expect an Ha filter should.

You're aware they only fit in the crop cameras that can take EF-S lenses eg 40D, 50D etc series and the 400D, 450D, 500D etc series? Not sure what camera you have, but they won't work on full-frame bodies like the 5DII.

The CLS-CCD filter is very good. Great results even with an un-modded camera.

Thanks for the report Rowland. Troy - I have a modified 400D so I will probably go ahead and get one of these filters. Cheers Peter
