Where to buy: 2" Filter wheel, Manual or automatic.

Soon enough I'll be delving into the world of narrowband imaging, and would prefer not to have to screw on and off filters all night... So I'll be looking for a 4 or 5 position filter wheel... It will need to accept 2" threaded filters...

Can anybody recommend one, where to buy and how much I'd expect to pay.

Thanks..

Oh, Also, Wheres the cheapest place to buy both an Astronomik SII and OIII filter?

Cheers.
Alex.

hmm... I had looked at those.. However they leave the filters exposed to the elements while they are not in use, which would be a pain if they decided to accumulate dew.. I'd prefer a rotating wheel that encloses the filters if possible...

Thanks though.

Hi Alex,

The new one from Qhy will have the option for bothe 1.25" filters and 2" filters. I was given some intial pricing of 230Euro + 50Euro for an addutional Carousel. But i dont believe the product is yet available. But for this price it is the best option on the market given the flexibility to adjust between 2" x 5 filters and 1.25" x 8 filters.

It seems more and more Chinese vendors are quoting in Euro now.

Fahim

I'm also waiting for the QHY wheel.
I believe it will be motor driven and will come with maxim/ascom drivers.
Woo Hoo!.... Then again... not another bloody cable

Alex,

I bought my 1 1/4" wheel from Ian King Imaging - good price and great service. He also sells 2" motorised wheels but they are obviously more expensive but you will get these VAT free.
