Hi Geoff
Yes all ok.
Was a bit of a worry there for a while as it was coming our way ... the river was in its way but it jumped the river there for a while but they put that out...
And the smoke travelled just South enough for me to image Orion☺.
Looking out now I would say it may be out....hopefully.

From all I can determine it is no longer a threat to us...but as usual the residual smoke is a pain...I will get a headache soon.

We really need rain. There is little in the tank and unfortunately a water truck cant get up the drive...I will connect the dam back up again today and I guess we will just have to buy drinking water from the supermarket...just like city folk do☺.

A couple of houses were lost is the news I am getting and the buildings at the Tabulam Horse Race Track have been damaged.
What I think was a "News" chopper flew over a while ago so maybe you will see something in the news.
Anyways off to the dam to hopefully install the new pump...its neat with twin impellers and 6.5 power unit.

I am not sure but it would be very close.
I am out if touch as to what is going on as I have been sorting out the new pump...it took ages to fit it in rhe old shed ...should have just got a new garden shed in retrospect☺
I will let you know something specific when I find out more.
Anyways the first water is now flowing into the tank so shortly the fire fighting gear here will have some ammo☺

Mmmm it seems to be moving towards the old place where I used to be...there is a lady (the astrologer☺) and her daughter there..
They called in last night on their way there ... so it will be an interesting day I suspect.

You all know I am an idiot but this story will be engraved on my tombstone...

You may recall I was having pump problems...I took the old pump out and sent it for repair..they said it was discontinued and they could not get the correct impellor but repaired it using initiative and parts they had laying around...so installed it and ran it..it pumped at the by pass (you start the pump and run water via the bypass so it can sort ot self out) but did not pump up the hill..oh I thought the repairs although well intentioned had not worked...so I buy a new pump..a most wonderful and beautiful thing it is to, twin impellers lots of outlets ..its rightful place is in the lounge room as a work of art... so I install it...mmmm it does not pump up to the house either????

Hang on whats this lever...oh it seems to be some sort of throttle...where did all that noise come from...so it pumps to the house when reved up☺ ....mmm I wonder does the old pump have a throttle. ..oh yes maybe that is why it did not pump up the hill....you fool..I dont indulge in negative self talk but it certainly was appropriate on this occassion...

How could this happen???

The old pump motor is basically the same as the one on the large genny which requires no throttle. ..it just runs☺...so that mental imprint left me not even thinking about a throttle...but how stupid...the energy to lift water over 50 meters should have switched me on...

But it suits my style...two of everything☺

It looks weird here with the smoke and mist....
So if someone tells you someone is an idiot you can say...that is nothing I know of this guy who had this pump repaired and you would not believe but he....

☺☺☺☺

Geoff.
I am pretty sure the fires would be at or very near Jimmys.

It is around Drake now...my brother in law and nephew have each been evacuated.
It heading West so it going away from my other place.
They have arrested the lady who started it...probably best place for her is in the lock up as from the talk I heard when in town I think they could string her up...and I expect she will be sued and lose her property and certainly it would be difficulr for her to live in the area in the future.

Me I am not worried as it probably wont come this way again and at least I have water and a spare pump☺.

My biggest concern is having to put my brother in law up or the lady who lives in my old place...

A lady we know and taught my daughter horse riding has lost her house.
My brother in laws house is still ok.
We are ok and well out of danger and today filled all tanks and a large pool like thing and ran all the sprinklers around the house...13 all up...so fighting back to green things up.
