I was playing with SGP's framing and mosaic wizard while still imaging the Tarantula nebula, I made the fame and added it to the run. Not long to wait and it went off on it's merry way to Orion, who at this point was low and just above the house. It was also a test to give me an idea as the start of my seeing, which is about 22 deg above the horizon.
This is 120 sec subs x 8, I ended up making flats and dark flats to see how it would go, I think it made the background darker as I bumped up the dark end of the histogram to bring out a touch more of the fainter gases. I was using my 8 inch f/4 newt and trying out a piggyback on it, I wasn't happy with the weight but the mount handled it okay.

Excellent M42 with great detail , good framing and colour
Well done !!
If I could ask are you using a coma corrector on that f4 ? Your stars appear to have some coma in the off axis regions
Apart from that a nicely presented image
Cheers
Martin
I'm using the Baader MPCC mkIII, the coma was the same in all 4 corners. I took it to I need to get the spacing right.
At the moment I'm pretty sure it is 55mm to senor and as like yourself may need to more it a fraction.
Edit: I checked and had back focus of 58mm which I'm guessing is the issue for my comas

Reason: Comas had to be comas
