Widefields, Crux-Carina & Centaurus-Crux

Just experiments using (believe it or not!) Windows Picture and Fax Viewer for the final processing. Comments welcome, whether you love or hate them!

The 'panoramas' each use three frames taken at 55mm with a Canon 650D on a Vixen Polarie startracker, stitched in PanoramaPlus3. Each frame is a stack of four 30-sec subs shot at ISO 6400, F/5.6.

I like your minimalist ideas Rob. Well done. I am a bit surprised you have moved off from the EQ1 from years gone by and now onto the Polarie.

Always a pleasure to view your images, in particular your unique comet shots.

Hehe, some people would say I've sold out! I do miss the therapeutic benefits of the painstaking turn of the slow-mo knob on a wobbly mount while keeping a star centred in the reticle. Wait on, what am I saying? The hell I do!

Yeah! I had to read the OP twice Rob, to make sure I hadn't lost the plot.. again..- 'twas a shock to read you are sporting such fancy things as a polarie! Well there you go, anything is possible. Only kidding.

Those are quite nice images, and once again, a good reminder that it is not what bling you have, but what you make of it that really matters.

Cheers for those,
humble servant,
boof.
