Thats a bugger, i got to Walcha Road and saw some stars through the clouds so i kept heading West, got clear at Bendemeer and i found a spot near the highway, luckily some thin cloud contracted to the East and made my sky a little clearer!
Hi Liz,
I measured at least 14 degrees, i would say it's longer than that but you need Bins and averted vision to make out the rest of the tail tip.
Have you had any luck observing it yet?

Yes, very happily observed it this am, but from a well lit carpark. hoping tomorrow I can head to a darker site. Very exciting!!
The tail looks longer in images coming through today, Amazing stuff.
A really dumb question but is it in the east at this hour????
Not dumb. Just think about it. It has just passed behind the sun so it will be very near the sun. The sun rises just after the comet hence it is in the eastern sky just before sunrise.
