Lx200 classic ascom compatibility.

Hi .
A quick question.
I am getting my Lx200 classic running from APT and CDC.
I can connect everything through Poth ok.
Is it possible to run everything through eqmod (eqeacom)??
While poth works ok I am more familiar with eqmod and it's features.
Thanks in advance.
Bruce

Not unless it has a Synscan mainboard and stepper motors :-)

Thanks Andrew .
I thought that may have been the case.
I guess then that other modules such as eq mozaic may not work either. But the poth hub certainly seems bullet proof.

Gday Bruce

POTH is similar to a USB hub, ie it doesnt know or care what the protocol of the "data" is that it deals with, ie as long as an ASCOM compatible driver is connected, it can talk to it, and blindly pass on the commands.
The problem is that the commands being sent "to the mount" have to be in a format the mount can understand.
EQMod /Synta commands are a totally different language ti Meades, so POTH may send em, but the mount wont understand them.
