Wow Col, what a collection, thanks for posting all those excellent images and well done on getting such clean shots.

I have built and painted most of these as Airfix Kit Models when I was a young lad. The ones I can remember are:
  • Spitfire
  • Lockheed Hudson
  • Boomerang
  • Tiger Moth
  • Gloster Meteor
  • Canberra
  • Sabre
  • Vampire
  • Hurricane
  • P-51 Mustangs
  • P-40 Kittyhawks
  • Catalina,
  • Yak
  • Grumman Avenger
Cheers

Dennis

My hand hurts from all the clicking .
Great pics Col! Some of those live near me at Archerfield Airport, I spot them going overhead time to time amidst all the learner flyers doing circuits. When the L39 jet (so loud) goes overhead I have a little chuckle of joy for the person that's spent $1,190 dollars making a dream come true, go them. It's 25min but the actual flight time is 15min. The P51 Mustang charges the same.
The airport has a little Qantas museum, lots of pics. In particular, the waiting lounge has HUGE b&w wall prints featuring Qantas. This is where Qantas first flew from and was Brisbane's main airport before Eagle Farm got built. And there's even a little plane spotting area there, nice and shady with a picnic table. There was an open day there last year, they had static displays and joy flights with the Roulette's starting the day off, I met up with them & got pics taken with them .

It gets quite busy here, aside from commercial and light aircraft, I have a crazy amount of helicopters flying over (if I point my camera at them I can see muscles . In one pic I snapped a guy flying his aircraft with only a pair of shorts on, he looked really good bathed in sunset colour , the pic found the pilot so that came back to bite him . They're only around 200ft. My little 14 month old grandson loves all the action while we do the bird feeding.

Thanks for the time you spent uploading all these Col, I enjoyed your pics .

Great photographs Col, I think I will make the journey to Temora next time they have this.
It is great to see the evolution of aircraft (military or otherwise) over a century of flight....

Thanks for posting these Col.

I am catching an Emirates A380 tonight, a little more comfy than your pictured ones I hope....

It is indeed. The A380 is the quietest and smoothest aircraft I've flown on. Enjoy your trip.

Col, great photos. I've always had an interest in military aircraft. I've been meaning to get out to Temora for a few years now .... when I get around to it ...

These are great Col.
I don't really get a chance to go to Airshows so I'm really enjoying your photos.
More please.
One day I'll make the effort to go to one.

Cheers

If you have Flight Simulator X (or better still a copy of Combat FS2) you can fly one of my many Merlin engined Spitfire variants - thirty of them.
Accurately detailed tuned RR Merlin engines and in CFS2 authentic armament and damage.
Majic!!

Is that a Gloucester Meteor in #2?

If so, I hadn't realised that it had a glass nose?

Cheers

Dennis

EDIT: Just did a Google search on the tail number A84-234 and it came back with a Canberra.

This Emirates A380 flew past our study window at approx. 2,500 ft this morning, on its way to Brisbane from Dubai.

Cheers
