I'm absolutely horrified looking at those images of open heart surgery on a $5000 camera.

Canon 5D mods

Hi All,
Beats me why he put an IR pass filter IN the Camera, should have been a 58mm Lens type (Hoya-R72) externally, with NO filter in the Camera, allowing the Camera to be used normally (using an XNite filter on the lens).

cheers...Jim

This keeps dust off the sensor surface. When we say we are cleaning the sensor we are really cleaning the filter in front of it!Sorry just checked it out its a real IR pass filter not a UV IR block!Hutech give a choice of filters in front of the sensor, they have to have very good anti reflection coatings.
