ZWO ASI AIR Pro guiding settings

Hi all

Have recently received ZWO asi air pro
Just for quick grab & go setup with HEQ5pro, TSOptics 71quad, zwo 1600mc and zwo 120mini mono guide camera, 120mm focal length guidescope

I was testing out last night under full moon, not ideal conditions I realise.
My question is to any ZWO pro users out here, what settings are you using for good guiding results
I have just used the standard settings that are programmed into unit

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Ben

Hi Ben
I used calibration steps 1350, max Dec 800, and max Ra 1000 respectively for a 50mm 162 focal length guide scope and it was fine. I have seen (on ZWO’s link to AsiAir YouTube videos) a recommendation for 500, 300, 300.

I use 2 sec exposure and reduced the RA agression to 15% and Dec aggression to 25%

This works for my setup

Hi Ben,

I use 1000, 500Dec , 1000 Ra. Play around with it though. Those settings are fine tuning and don’t make a massive difference. I use 2 sec intervals on good seeing nights and 3 seconds on average seeing. That’s on a HEQ5 with an 8” f/4 on board. My last night of imaging ran at between .47 and .52 for 6 hrs straight. Keep the guide speed low at 8x in your main screen. My RA and Dec run at almost 100% in aggression.

Cheers

Ryan
