M8 - Narrowband - 2nd Panel Added

Good evening and thanks to those for commenting on the image I posted yesterday.

I have added a second panel and reprocessed from scratch, but I did include the central portion of the Lagoon in this new image as I was quite happy with the detail there. Yes, I agree the framing could be better for NGC 6559 and I am working on adding two further panels.

So - 45 mins per filter per panel and there is a link to a much larger image on the page.

The 2nd panel looks fantastic. Bring on the mosaics!
I did a 4 panel mosaic of this area a few years back with the Honders.
It was just a bit narrow to fit Trifid and Lagoon in 2 frames with a 16803 sensor.

Looking great.

Greg.

Thanks again!

Yes Rick, I have two more panels in train so that I can completely frame NGC 6559.

Cheers

Martin, I really like how you present narrowband data in a harmonious way; splendid detail and well balanced colours provide with a very pleasing viewing experience. I look forward to the completed mosaic.

Detail in the centre of the Lagoon is exquisite Martin! I'm going to run out of superlatives when you get it finished! But for now I'll leave you with excellent, glorious & first rate!

And thank you for posting the full res on your old site!

Marcus

I like the palette too, it's a nice take on an often imaged area. Looking forward to seeing your finalised image.
