Comet C/2013 V5 (Oukaimeden) meets the Rosette nebula

Heads up for photo opportunity over the next couple of days as this comet swings by the Rosette nebula. Not ideal conditions last night with the Moon nearby throwing flare, but thought I'd get in early in case clouds ruined the party.

Kson ED80 at F5.5 8 x 1 minutes and 3 x 2 minutes, Pentax K-5. Comet is slightly trailed as I didn't use a dual stack for this shot.

Thanks Simon. Sorry about the clouds. They are all around the horizon as I type so I may not get another shot at it.

Thanks Dunk! The comet will be very close to the nebula this morning. If it's clear tonight I'll try again with the 100mm refractor for closer scale.

Good luck, and I hope to see it again

It's lashing down here tonight

Thanks Justin. There's another chance tonight if the clouds stay away.
