I'm not using this much any more since purchasing the 10" Schmidt Newt so I'm thinking it is time for it to go to a new home. This scope was my first purchase, initially for visual astronomy, then webcam planetary imaging and then deep space astro photography. It has now been converted back to it's original format as a visual scope on a dob mount. It has some minor cosmetic blemishes on the tube however these do not impact the performance in any way.
I believe the optics in this are quite good as can be seen in the images on my Astrobin pages (the ones with the diffraction spikes are taken with these optics).
I'm quite pleased with this NGC5128
http://www.astrobin.com/full/13418/C/ and this M20:
http://www.astrobin.com/full/11331/B/ both taken with this OTA.
It comes with Bob's Knobs on both primary and secondary, upgraded primary springs to minimise mirror flop, a Kenrdick secondary heater, finderscope, Telrad and a new two speed Crayford focuser. The internals of the tube are flocked for improved contrast and the primary is centre spotted with a Cayseye hotspot.
The OTA will come to focus both visually and with a DSLR/CCD.
I think this is going to be way too big and heavy to ship so I'm looking for a local buyer/pickup, $550.
