New Member from Tasmania

Hi everyone,

I am newbie when it comes to Astronomy. I have a very keen interest in all things science.

Wanting to get into Amateur Astronomy, thought this was a good place to start.

Cheers,

Jin-oh

Jin-oh, you're in the right place, feel free to ask any questions you like. If you haven't got any equipment yet, getting together with some of the locals and looking through there gear is a good starting point.

There are monthly get togethers in your area, usually at Clarendon, if you wish to be on the mailing list contact IIS member Moonman (Michale Booth) by pm.

Welcome aboard, please loosen the strings on your purse, you are about to enter the money pit.
And yes, find your local group and attend a viewing so you can see what's available and how you want to start.

I should update this post

I haven't been here in awhile. But thought I would update the post.

It looks like I'll be taking the plunge and buying my first telescope (2nd hand) via this forum. A friend of mine who is also here is communicating with the seller.

It's a Celestron 80 LCM Computerised Refractor Telescope.

Since my last post, I had the opportunity to pick up a Celestron G5 telescope instead.
